Trade Accelerator Program (TAP)

Once again, SIPP is partnering with the World Trade Centre Vancouver and the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce to bring the Trade Accelerator Program (TAP) to Victoria (this time virtually!). The world-renowned TAP program helps SMEs reach more customers by navigating foreign markets around the globe through the development of market entry plans.

Over the first two cohorts of the program, 30 local companies have attended and gave it high praise for providing tangible, and in some cases dramatic, results.

Just six months after graduating from the program, on average, export revenue increased by 23% and participants forecast their export sales to grow 47% over the next 5 years.

International Business Development

SIPP organizes international business delegations and trade missions based on special circumstances and/or private-sector demand for specific markets. Some examples of targeted trips that SIPP has led include: Western USA (Seattle, San Francisco, San Jose), Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo) and China (Shanghai, Shenzhen).

In a targeted trip to Shanghai in 2018, SIPP worked with in-market partners to arrange B2B itineraries for eight Greater Victoria companies. This trip–including companies like Limbic Media, CAVU Designwerks, DreamCraft Attractions, and ASAsoft Canada–led to several follow-up trips to further develop the relationships established. Several business deals have since materialized.
