The South Island Prosperity Partnership (SIPP), Greater Victoria’s economic development alliance, today announced that the Vancouver Island Construction Association (VICA) has joined its regionwide membership aimed at strengthening the South Island’s economy and unleashing the region’s economic potential.

VICA’s membership brings a vital connection with Vancouver Island’s construction industry to SIPP’s alliance of 70+ members, including First Nations, municipalities, major businesses and business associations, post-secondaries and nonprofits.

VICA is a member-based, non-profit organization that has been supporting the construction industry on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast since 1912. Representing the industrial, commercial, institutional, and multi-residential (ICI) construction sectors, VICA advocates for the industry’s interests at the local, regional, and provincial levels. With offices in Victoria and Nanaimo, VICA serves over 500 member companies by providing industry-specific training, safety programs, networking opportunities, and access to project leads and market intelligence.

“We are pleased to welcome VICA, the voice of Vancouver Island’s construction sector, as our newest SIPP member,” says Aaron Stone, CEO of SIPP. “There is a great deal of synergy between our organizations in our commitments to a bold vision for a thriving regional economy.”
