In a recent interview with Peninsula News Review, Elizabeth Brown, CEO of the Victoria Airport Authority, reflected on 2024 as a year of transition and opportunity for Victoria International Airport (YYJ). YYJ experienced strong passenger growth, with 1.86 million travellers this year, over 100,000 more than the previous year.
Additionally, YYJ marked 2024 with important groundwork for future growth, including plans for terminal expansion and significant investments in airport infrastructure. Brown emphasized the airport’s dual role as a community hub and gateway to Vancouver Island, which plans to fully recover to pre-pandemic passenger levels by 2025.
